Getnet Taye holds a PhD in business management and leadership and a master’s in business economics. He built his career in airline airport and cargo operations, progressing through operational and leadership roles before joining IATA in 2016 as regional manager for airport, passenger, cargo and security for Africa and the Middle East. Since 2022, he has been based in the IATA head office in Montreal, driving industry standards and innovation in baggage.
