Preparing an airport/hub to operate under missiles/rockets/UAV threats

Aviation security and facilitation
Current global dispute zones should bring concerns to countries and airports about finding themselves in the near future under threat of explosives carried on odd platforms – UAVs, rockets or even ballistic missiles. More rogue countries and/or terror organizations are gaining access to or are even involved in mass production, and the psychological bridge has already been crossed with repeated attacks on civilian airports in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. There's always the option of shutting down business but if you're considered as a crucial or critical service and want/need business continuity, consider learning from experienced peers.
- Analyze – acknowledge/understand the threats
- Despair is not a (good) business strategy – work plans on this issue
- The airport community – everybody contributes to mitigation
- Brief, practice, train – and repeat
- Learn to (long) breathe – it is a process, it is hard, but it is also achievable. We've experienced two hits and maintained OPS ASAP
