Environment and sustainability
The Royal Schiphol Group, in cooperation with KPMG and Naturalis, defined a transition plan to enhance resilience, biodiversity and nature-related performance. Using a TNFD LEAP (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures – Locate, Evaluate, Assess, Prepare)-aligned approach and the THRIVE tool (Toolset for Hierarchical Reporting and Insightful Validation of Ecosystems), the project identified priority areas intersecting biodiversity and economic impact. Baselines and hotspots were mapped to assess risks and opportunities. Scenario testing informed focus areas and measures. Final recommendations were based on ecological impact, feasibility and regulatory alignment with Dutch and EU frameworks for nature-positive transformation.
