This session presents the pilot of an autonomous, end-to-end wheelchair service for passengers with reduced mobility at Frankfurt Airport. The system enables passengers to independently navigate from check-in to the gate, supported by intelligent routing, obstacle detection and coordinated handover points. The pilot tested real operational scenarios, safety procedures and integration with existing PRM services. Attendees will gain insights into how automation can enhance accessibility, passenger autonomy and service efficiency while maintaining compliance with airport safety and operational standards. The session will highlight lessons learned from deployment, user experience and service optimization.
