Airport facilities management
Arup and JFK T4 IAT are collaborating to extend the terminal’s useful life. The project includes a visual condition survey of systems, equipment and spaces – plus an infrared drone scan of the exterior. Findings are analyzed to assess residual life and propose service life extension strategies focused on resilience, efficiency, customer experience and cost. The final report outlines repair and replacement recommendations, conceptual costing and a 3D facility model. The presentation offers a compelling narrative on the sustainability and economic benefits of revitalizing a 30-year-old terminal versus the cost and environmental impact of building anew.
