Day 3 - Digital identity and wallets in travel
This presentation explores how Air Transat and Aéroports de Montréal use digital identity to simplify and secure travel. Passengers can enrol before arriving, enabling seamless boarding and reducing queues and paperwork. Benefits include faster processing, improved security, and greater satisfaction. The presentation will cover use cases, cross-border travel with existing technologies, and the role of interoperability, standards, and privacy-preserving tech. It will also highlight collaboration with IN Groupe and the EU APTITUDE Consortium to demonstrate interoperability using ICAO Type-2 DTC credentials for travel between YUL and MRS.
  • How biometric enrolment and digital identity can benefit airport security, boarding processes, and beyond borders.
  • The importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in driving innovation and operational excellence.
  • Operational readiness for full-scale deployment and lessons learned from pilot phases.
  • Strategy for expanding from Canada into the EU for international travel.
