180 days ahead: orchestrating the airport ecosystem by DCB

19 Mar 2026
Room 9
Day 3 - Airport capacity and flexibility
While most airports create their airport operation plan (AOP) on D-1, we start 180 days in advance. Each day, our plan becomes more refined, using data to predict and steer total airport performance across the entire chain. Supported by our in-house-built tool, Iris, our Airport Operations Center (APOC) works from one shared operational picture on all domains: network, terminal, landside, airside and baggage. Supported by unique concepts like day categories, we’ve created a common language to anticipate, not react. Measures like time slots allow us to dynamically manage unforeseen circumstances, ensuring preparation truly becomes performance.
  • The future is orchestration, not optimization: it’s not about doing things faster, but making the whole system move in harmony. From D-180 to D-0
  • A connected ecosystem is a resilient ecosystem: true resilience comes from shared visibility and joint decision-making across all domains
  • Technology doesn’t replace people, it amplifies collaboration: with tools like Iris, we turn data into a common language, helping teams act together
