The Connected Places Catapult is the UK’s innovation
accelerator for cities, transport and build environment. We help grow the UK
economy by driving the commercialisation of emerging innovations and new
technologies in transport and the built environment in our towns and cities. We
run technology demonstrators and SME accelerators to scale new solutions that
drive growth, spread prosperity, and eliminate carbon.
A collaborative initiative between Connected Places Catapult and Glasgow Airport is the Connected Airport Living Lab, a five-year partnership designed to test and demonstrate new technologies in a real-world airport
environment. It serves as a hub for innovation to enhance passenger experience,
improve operational efficiency, and accelerate the aviation sector's
decarbonization efforts, including hydrogen use, automation, and data
analytics.
The Living Lab operates
as a real-world testbed where SMEs and partners can trial new solutions in a
live, secure, and monitored environment, facilitating the transition from
concept to operational deployment
