European Union will introduce ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System
In the last quarter of this year, the European Union will introduce ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System. It will require visa-free visitors from 59 countries around the world to apply for a travel authorisation before heading to Europe.
ETIAS will strengthen Europe’s security by conducting pre-travel checks of visa-free travellers. It will also bring new obligations for airlines and other carriers, as they will be required to verify that their passengers have a valid travel authorisation prior to boarding.
