Halo X-ray Technologies will showcase a new, fully combined computed tomography (CT) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) benchtop secondary alarm resolution system at the expo. This new benchtop capability (ARES) is targeted at checkpoint and checked baggage screening, with wider market opportunities in customs and border protection, and across a broad range of applications. A full-size concept system will be unveiled at PTE World 2026, showing the operational functionality provided by this new small-format screening solution.

Halo Ares combines CT and XRD subsystems into a single, small-format, through-barrier benchtop solution to automatically screen every type of opaque container, electronic items up to 15in laptops, and all types of typical passenger items. Ares is a portable, networked system, eliminating the need for other alarm resolution systems, and provides high-resolution on-system CT images for direct on-screen resolution (OSR) to facilitate rapid screening operations.

Ares is an integral part of Halo’s wider product portfolio, which includes the mature HXT264 inline XRD alarm resolver, and other new combined CT and XRD single-system, fully automatic screening systems currently being developed to support the next generation of solutions for aviation security.
