CPK signs contract for landside maintenance bases design
CPK signs contract with Vanderlande for BHS at Poland’s new central airport
The work will be carried out by Piotr Płaskowicki Architekt, selected through a tender. The Landside Maintenance Bases will provide essential infrastructure for airport services, including repairs, maintenance and activities ensuring safe and uninterrupted airport operations. The design contract is worth over PLN 4.6 million. Five firms competed in the tender. The bases will occupy around 14,500 m², with approximately 2,130 m² allocated for garage facilities. A garage and storage building (or complex) will support year-round upkeep of artificial surfaces, small architectural elements and greenery in the Landside zone. It will include equipment servicing bays, storage areas (including chemical storage for de-icing agents), as well as staff and office facilities.
An additional office and workshop building will be designed for teams responsible for maintaining airport buildings and engineering structures, electrical and power systems, water supply and sewage networks.
These teams will also oversee HVAC installations, building and parking systems, intelligent transport systems and the administration of Landside facilities. The building will include office space, training rooms, sanitary facilities, storage and workshops.
This investment is part of one of two Framework Agreements for preparing design documentation for Airport Support Facilities. Concept designs have already been completed for the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Service building, the air traffic control tower and the Airport Operations Control Centre.
Design work is also underway for airport service maintenance bases, meteorology facilities, the environmental hazard monitoring unit, the Data Processing Centre, airport catering facilities and the Airport Police Station.
