Auracast™ Brings a New Era of Accessible Airport Announcements
At this year’s Passenger Terminal Expo, Sittig Technologies is presenting a major step forward in accessible passenger communication with the introduction of Auracast™ broadcast audio for airport announcements.
Integrated with the PAXGuide automated announcement system, Auracast enables airports to stream real-time announcements directly to passengers’ personal devices, including headphones and hearing aids. Travelers can simply select the relevant broadcast channel, similar to choosing a Wi-Fi network, and instantly receive clear and synchronized announcements anywhere in the terminal.
The technology significantly improves accessibility for passengers with hearing impairments, travelers using headphones, or those in noisy environments. Sittig has recently completed the world’s first Auracast deployment for airport announcements at Frankfurt Airport, demonstrating how the technology can seamlessly extend existing public address systems.
By complementing traditional loudspeaker announcements with direct device streaming, Auracast enables airports to deliver more inclusive, future-ready passenger communication.
